Tsukemono (pickles) steak

According to tradition, the origin can be traced back to when people fried frozen pickles to melt them or cooked aged, overly sour pickles to make them better for eating. "Tsukemono (pickles) steak" made from fried pickles bound with egg onto which dried bonito flakes or shredded leek are sprinkled is now a well-known dish which is increasingly popular amongst tourists visiting Hida region.
