Kasuga Haruna

Since before 1936, it has been grown mainly in the Kasuga area for home consumption as pickles and simmered greens, and is popularly called "haruna" in the region.
It is an annual plant, sown from late September to early October, and harvested in the spring after the snow melts.
"Harua" is an indispensable springtime food in the Ibi area and has been well rooted there.
Because it does not wither even under snow during the winter season.

Sweetness Stands Out Over the Winter! A Taste of Spring Loved by the Locals
Chop into small pieces, pickle in salt, and eat. Excellent as a preserved food. Can be chopped into chunks and added to miso soup or stir-fried. The leaves are soft and have no bitterness.
