Kunogawa kabura (turnip)

This kind of turnip is cultivated in Gero City and is named after the area where it is grown. This turnip is characterized by the red color which is seen over the entire plant, that is, on the root surface and core, as well as the leaves and stems. When pickled, the red color becomes deeper and more vivid. It has been used for making pickles since long ago.
