Minami Hida fuji gaki (persimmon)

This persimmon variety is cultivated in Gero City today. Its origin is unknown, but it began to be widely popularized around 1930 by a cultivator who gave instructions on how to grow it. It is a semi-bitter kind which is harvested from late October to early November. The fruit grows to be in a square-like shape with black spots on the skin, weighing between 300 and 350 grams each.
